Western Sportsman Magazine Query Call 2012!

It’s that time of the year again — we’re looking for feature articles for our 2012 issues for Western Sportsman magazine.

Please read WRITERS GUIDELINES before querying.

When sending multiple queries, please do so in an attached .doc or .rtf file, and please include your contact information in the document.

Please write “Western Sportsman Query Call” in your subject line and e-mail queries to:

PHOTOGRAPHY: Please note that only digital photography is accepted at both magazines, and all photos must have a minimum pixel count of 2,000 x 3,000 (six megapixels) — preferably higher. If your story query has accompanying prints or low-res photography, it cannot be accepted.

Please make each query about 100 to 150 words, and be as concise as possible. For each story, please outline your photo support as well. For any feature idea: sidebars on gear, tips, local knowledge, etc., will make your story even more desirable.

Thanks. The deadline for queries is June 1, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.

If your query (or queries) are accepted, I will be in contact mid-June with specific word count, deadline and payment information. Otherwise, feel free to query in the future. Only those contributors with accepted queries will be contacted.

NOTE: if you have queried me in the last year and have yet to hear a response, please feel free to re-submit your story ideas. We get a little busy around here…

Please feel free to forward this e-mail on to other writers or photographers in your network, should you wish.
