Gear Review: Mathews Z7 Extreme

Forgiving, fast and compact — this is Mathews’ new Z7 Extreme.

This 28-inch (axle to axle) bow shoots up to 330 fps, is available in 40-, 50-, 60-, 65- and 70-pound draw weights, offers 80 per cent let off, has draw lengths from 24 to 30 inches in half-inch increments and weighs less than three pounds. Among its numerous features are a Dead End String Stop, which drastically reduces string vibration and noise, a recoil/vibration dampening Harmonic Dampening System, Monkey Tails that eliminate string vibration while only reducing speed by one to two fps and… well, tons more — you have to shoot it to believe it. It is available in camo or black.
