Historically, Winchester has built some very fine rifles.

The Model 70 Ultimate Shadow Hunter SS would certainly make my wish list. It is just one fine looking and handling rifle that is built around a lightweight, synthetic stock, covered in Mossy Oak Break Up Infinity camo. With its gray overmoulded rubberized gripping surfaces and Winsord Technology recoil pad, this rifle not only looks great, but also handles very well under all weather conditions. It has a forged stainless steel receiver, stainless steel sporter weight free-floating barrel, pre-’64-style controlled round feed with a claw extractor and an M.O.A. trigger with zero creep, overtravel and take up.

It is available in a number of calibres, from .243 Winchester right up to the .338 Winchester Magnum.

MSRP: $1,039.99, with the Ultimate Shadow Hunter model (non stainless steel) MSRP at $829.99
