What kinds of flies catch the most bass?

I enjoy fly fishing for bass - but I'm new to it, and I don't know the best patterns. Can you help? -EB

Bass are aggressive feeders, and the right fly depends on the time of year.In the spring and early summer, you can't go wrong with a dry fly - a mouse pattern or other such fly that will really disturb the water when it hits.

Later on in the year, try a bead head leech or micro leech, fished right at the drop-off in your favourite bass lake.

Other patterns include floating bass bugs and many other leech patterns. -Eds
