2010 BIG GAME DRAW OPENS MAY 1

If you are hoping to hunt certain big game species this fall, you should plan on getting your Big Game Draw applications in before the May 31, 2010 deadline.

It's that time of year again. For bow-hunters, the season is afoot.

How many of you are bow-benders? And of you that bow-hunt, how many also rifle hunt?

Finally, why do you bow-hunt? To extend your season? To challenge yourself? For the primitive-weapons nature of it? To hunt exclusive grounds? Or just to get out there earlier?

I would like to put a question out there into cyberspace...

Following the now-infamous incident of the duck shooters who uploaded their crimes against nature onto YouTube (CLICK HERE to read the latest), I have to wonder somewhat about the punishment...

OK, $16,000 in total fines -- I get that. Forfeiture of rifles and camcorders -- that makes sense. Public humiliation? That was thrown in for free.

In case anyone missed it, here's a news release for Saskatchewanites:

SUNDAY HUNTING COMING TO SASKATCHEWAN

Hunters will enjoy an additional day of hunting in Saskatchewan, with province-wide Sunday hunting for all game species and hunters beginning with the 2009 hunting season.
