Who Is Gail Shea?

The federal cabinet was announced, including a new Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Prince Edward Island MP Gail Shea.
And the entire province of British Columbia, home of Canada's largest coastline, rolls their eyes.
I, for one, am going to give Shea the benefit of the doubt -- but really, I am sick of the East telling the West how things should be done. Especially in regards to the fisheries.
One of Shea's opening remarks after being appointed was "We have a lot of issues in PEI that have to be dealt with..."
Yeah, and so does BC. Is a federal minster fo fisheries SERIOUSLY thinking the fishing industry and resources of PEI can even compare to that of BC?
Please, Gail, go to BC ASAP and put managing the Pacific Region high on your list of priorities -- dare I say, higher than "fixing harbours" in PEI.
Maybe the ulitimate solution is to create two federal fisheries ministries -- one for the Pacific and Arctic regions (together), one for the Atlantic. Let's face it, the East and West coasts (and the north too) are different worlds. Does it really make sense for one person to manage both?
If so, maybe I should be the editor of Cosmopolitan, too, right?
My two cents.
