Holy carp! These fat, feisty fighters might be the most fun you have on the water this summer

It was an interesting introduction to a new way of fishing. I did remember, as a teen, setting up a hand line with a couple of bait hooks smothered in dew worms. On the end of the line was a hunk of lead designed to carry this alluring mass of goodies out into the depths. However, in Peterborough we were using sophisticated fishing tackle unlike anything I had experienced in my lifetime of angling. It only goes to prove that you can teach this old dog a new trick.
