| Christmas for the Sportsman |
|
Here in Edmonton we rarely have to "dream" of a white Christmas. I'm just hoping we don't have a "white-out." In case you've forgotten, it is the holiday season, and while 'tis better to give than received -- receiving's not too shabby. Especially if it's some gear you desperately need... or just desperately want. You might want to print this off and give it to your better half -- I have some gift ideas that will come in handy afield. • Maybe this is the year you take up archery. If it might be, check out Bowtech 's new SWAT bow. It can be bought completely outfitted with sights, quiver, rest, etc. -- ready to shoot 300-plus-foot-per-second arrows right out of the box. • Light up your life! Leupold 's new modular flashlights are really cool. Basically, these are custom flashlights: you choose the bezel (Xenon or LED), the maintube size, etc., to build a flashlight that works for what you need it for -- tracking, field dressing, setting up decoys, whatever. • Got a rich uncle? Let him know that Arctic Cat 's 366 ATV, with 10 inches of ground clearance and independent suspension, is only about $6,600. • Time to cook -- Cooking Wild is the best cookbook ever created for the outdoorsman. Hurry, though, we've printed a limited amount of these and they're selling FAST. Maybe you're not one for specifics... fly line, insulated gloves, wool socks... all good gifts. Or maybe even a subscription to Western Sportsman ? Or best of all -- buy outdoorsy gifts for a new sportsman, and get him or her started in the outdoors right. Have a great Christmas.
